About
Liz Willoughby is a Scottish Jewellery designer working with Ocean Plastics and recycled Silver.
Liz gathers materials on Scotland's wild West coast and Hebridean Islands to create sculptural, one-of-a-kind jewellry pieces. She showcases the vibrant range of colours and materials available on the shore and the unique properties imposed on them by the elements. Ocean plastics, tangled fibres, twine, and fishing buoys are combined with recycled metals and transformed by playful compositions. Each piece is handcrafted with care, embodying the ethos of small-scale production and slow design. Elements of movement and chance within each piece encapsulate the feeling of beachcombing in wild coastal regions.
Liz graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 2022 with a BA Hons in Silversmithing and Jewellery Design. Currently, Liz shares a studio in Wasps_ Hanson Street and splits her time between Glasgow and the West Highlands & Islands.
Sutainability
Sustainability is an integral part of Liz’s practice. By reusing Ocean Plastics, Liz highlights the unique properties of these materials, removing them from the shore and offering them a new life. All jewellery pieces use recycled silver or copper and all packaging is sustainably sourced.
